PORT RESTRICTION / INFORMATION

KOLKATA PORT

Kolkata Dock System ( KDS ) is situated at latitude 22 32' 53" North and longitude 88 18' 15" East in the State of West Bengal.KDS is situated on the left bank of the Hooguly River, 145 k.m. abovethe entrance to the river from the estuary off Sagar Island inthe Bay of Bengal.

Facilities at KDS can be grouped into three ( 03 ) segments :

K.P. Docks : 18 Berths + 6 Buoy Mooring + 3 Dry Docks

N.S. Docks : 12 Berths + 2 Buoy Mooring + 2 Dry Docks

Budge Budge River : Consisting of 6 Petroleum wharves

HALDIA PORT

Haldia Dock Complex ( HDC ) is situated 130 k.m. from Pilotage situation at Sandheads at latitude 22 02' North and longitude 88 06' East in the State of West Bengal.

HDC contains 12 berths of which nine ( 09 ) berths are located inside the impounded dock. Three ( 03 ) Oil Jetties are located on the river.

PARADIP PORT

Paradip Port is situated at latitude 22 15' 55.44" North and longitude 86 40' 34.62" East in the state of Orissa.

The Port of Paradip has an artificial lagoon type Harbour protected by two ( 02 ) rubble mould "Break Waters" and approached by dredged channels. There are 12 berths to handle cargo originated from natural resources and industrial products.

VISKHAPATNAM (VIZAG) PORT

Visakhapatnam ( Vizag ) Port situated at latitude 17 41' North and longitude 83 18' East in the North-East in the State of Andhra Pradesh.

A natural Harbour of Eastern Coast comprises of 15 berths in the inner Harbour and 7 berths in the outer Harbour.

KAKINADA DEEP WATER PORT

The Port is situated at latitude 16 58.37' North and longitude of 82 17.06' East. This is a naturally protected Port because of protection from 17 k.m. length of Hope Island. It consist of three ( 03 ) berths each 12 M dredged draft.

CHENNAI PORT

Chennai Port situated at latitude 13 06' North and longitude 80 18' East. It is an artificial Harbour situated on the Coromondal Coast in South-East India.

Chennai Port has 21 alongside berths in the Docks viz., Dr. Ambedkar Dock, Jawahar Dock, Bharathi Dock and Container Terminal.

PONDICHERRY PORT

Pondicherry Anchorage Port situated at latitude 11 56' North, Longitude-79 50' East about 170 kms south of Chennai. Suitable for lighterage operations during fair weather months (February to September).

Communication on Marine VHF channel is available. Watch on channel 16 is maintained during Port operation. Channel 10 and 12 are available for ship-shore communication.

No facility of Supply of Fresh Water at Pondicherry Anchorage Port.

NAGAPATTINAM PORT

Nagapattinam Anchorage Port situated at latitude 10 56' North and longitude 79 50' East at the mouth of river Kaduvayar in the Bay of Bengal about 266 KM south of Chennai. Suitable for lighterage operations during fair weather months (February to September). Depending upon the vessel's arrival draft Port will instruct the Master the position for Anchoring.

On arrival the Master of vessel to contact the Port control over VHF on Channel 16, who inturn will advise the anchoring position depending upon the wind force.

No facility of Supply of Fresh Water at Pondicherry Anchorage Port.

TUTICORIN PORT

Tuticorin Port situated at latitude 08 45' North and longitude 78 13' East on the East Coast of India but Navigationally on the West. It has two ( 02 ) operational wings Zone 'A' comprising of the new Major Port and Zone 'B' representing the Old Anchorage or Minor Port.

The Port comprises of Eight ( 08 ) Berths, 2 Shallow Berths and 2 Coal Jetties.

COCHIN PORT

Cochin Port is situated latitude 09 58' North and longitude 76 14' East on the State of Kerala, consisting of 10 berths capable of handling Crude, POL, Fertiliser, Gas, Cargo and Containers.

NEW MANGALORE PORT

New Mangalore Port situated at latitude 12 55.5' North, Longitude 74 48.5' East about 170 nautical mile south of Marmugao and about 191 nautical miles North of Cochin Port.

There are 13 berths and 1 virtual jetty in the Port.

The Port is well equipped to handle bulk, liquid chemicals, hazardous cargoes, crude and POL products, heavy lifts, machinery, containers.

GOA (MORMUGAO) PORT

Mormugao Port is situated latitude 15 25' North and longitude 73 47' East, in the State of GOA. One of the oldest Indian Port with a fine Natural Harbour.

It is the premier Iron Ore export oriented Port also capable of handling Containers.

MUMBAI PORT

Mumbai Port is situated latitude 18 54' North and longitude 72 49' East on the West Coast of India in the state of Maharashtra.

It is known as the Principal Gate Way of India, comprises of three ( 03 ) docks namely, Prince's Dock, Victoria Dock and Indian Dock capable of handling Container, Ro-Ro, Dry Bulk, Liquid Bulk and Break Bulk Cargo.

JAMNAGAR (BEDI) PORT

Bedi Anchorage Port situated at latitude 22 37.1' North and longitude 70 03.8' East On the Southern Coast of the Gulf of Kutch about 395 NM North-West of Mumbai and 35 NM South of Kandla.

Bedi Anchorage Port is Deep Water Anchorage Port. No LOA, Beam, Draft restriction. Vessels on arrival to contact VTMS, Bedi Port on VHF Channel 16.

KANDLA PORT

Kandla Port is situated latitude 23 01' North and longitude 70 13' East in the state of Gujarat. It has eight ( 08 ) cargo berths, four ( 04 ) Oil Jetties, two ( 02 ) single Buoy Mooring, Stream Loading facilities and has Container Handling Facilities.

PORT BLAIR PORT

Port Blair situated at latitude 11 41' North and longitude 9246' East about 600 KM west of the coast of Myanmar.

Foreign vessels to take permission from the Govt. of India, Andaman & Nicober Administration. for entry.

Vessels to hoist Flag N while entering anf Flag F While leaving the Harbour.

No vessel permitted to leave port between 19:00 hrs to 06:00 hrs without special authority of the Dy. Conservator of Ports
